Cornhole Golf Classic
Jun 26, 2010

Part Cornhole…Part Golf…Part Bar Crawl…and ALL FUN. You will travel to six different bars in uptown Charlotte that each have anywhere from two to four cornhole golf holes in them. What exactly is a cornhole golf hole you ask? It's a unique blend of cornhole and putt-putt, and is fun for people of all skill levels.
So get your teams of two together and sign up today. Check in is from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Dixie’s. As soon as you are checked in we will put you in a foursome (if you don’t have one) and your group is off to the tee box on Hole #1. After you complete your 18 holes, return to Dixie’s between 9:00pm-10:00pm to turn in your scorecard and rock out at the 19th Hole After Party. Cost is $5/person.
SIGN UP HERE
Prizes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place w/1st Place being a Boarding Pass for TWO on the Bud Light Port Paradise Party Cruise to the Bahamas*. (*winners will pay taxes and port fees)
Cornhole Golf – The Rules
1. Player's Tee Off from the Tee Box at each hole which will be marked.
2. Cornhole Bag must be tossed underhanded.
3. Player must have a beverage in the opposite hand at the time of any toss.
(Beverage is at the discretion of the player)
4. Where the bag lands, the player must place their front foot on that spot and toss from that point (similar to disc golf). The rest of the body should not pass this spot except for the motion of the arm.
5. If the bag lands on anything other than the ground or anything higher than six inches, the player must take a penalty stroke and take their next toss at the closest point behind the spot of the infraction.
6. If a bag lands completely on the board, you take one step (no less than two feet) from the front of the board and toss the bag. This is a putt. For a putt, you must have both feet on the floor until after you release the bag (no leaning over the hole and dropping the bag in).
7. PENALTY STROKES:
*Bag goes out of bounds or is tossed over a "no fly zone".
*No fly zones are basically over any bartop (we don't want you breaking the alcohol) We may specifically name a "no fly zone" at any hole.
8. For a penalty stroke add 1 stroke and throw from the original point the toss was tossed from.
9. For certain holes, we may require you throw blindfolded, opposite handed or any other method. If the specified style is not used with a toss. The toss must be remade from the point it was incorrectly tossed and a stroke is added.
10. At the end of each hole, record the number of strokes each player took, including penalty strokes. Each hole will have a par assigned to it.
11. After Eighteen Holes, scorecards by team are to be turned in. The team with the lowest combined score for the course will win the grand prize. In the event of a tie(s), all teams with the lowest score will be put in hat and the grand prize winner will be drawn randomly (as well as possibly second and third place).
Have fun, but please do not be destructive. Be careful and respectful of our hosts and their decor. Happy Cornhole Golfing….

Irish Flu Symptoms:
Sales meeting boredom, carpel tunnel from typing up TPS Reports, eye soreness from starting at your work computer, and more.
The Cure:
First thing, take a half-day at work on the 17th. Work can only make the Irish Flu symptoms worse. Once you have taken off your jacket and tie, simply take a "flu shot" at the first bar on the crawl. If this does not make you feel better, follow-up with several ice cold beers and more "flu shots" at the other bars throughout the evening.
CLICK HERE for a doctor's note from Lazyday's own "Dr. Valentine". He understands that the "Irish Flu" is a serious problem and the only cure is the bar crawl.
The Irish Flu Bar Crawl is ONLY $5
Anyone arriving before 5pm gets a flu shot on Dr. Valentine's tab
Email us at info@lazyday.com to make your reservations now or to ask us a question.

Rich & Bennett's Summer Tubing Trip
UPDATE: The third and final bus is a go, but the spots are going quick!!!

...and so much more!
We are hitting up a new river this year, which ironically is called "The New River", just south of Boone, NC. This years cost includes the usual bloody mary, screwdriver bar at Tyber Creek, beers on the ride to the river, bus ride to and from the New River, cookout halfway thru the trip complete with live bluegrass band, raffle ticket good for prizes such as t-shirts, hats, the Rich & Bennett Golden Ticket, AND we have the river 100% rented out just for our group this year.
What to Bring:
- Cooler – full size, not mini as those will fall thru the tube and you’ll cry
- Beer – we’ll have some ice cold Anheuser-Busch beer for the bus, but you need some for the river…BOTTLES ARE NOT ALLOWED!!!
- Footwear – the bottom of the river is very rocky so you’ll want some sort of old shoes, aquasocks, etc. Flip flops are a no-no.
- Bathing suit – or your official Dan River Tubing Uni
- Towel – unless you prefer to air dry
- Change of clothes – unless air drying takes you a really long time
- Beer Huggies/Koozies – recommended, but not required
- Waterproof camera – you’ll have some unique photo opportunities
- Sun tan lotion – mainly so I can borrow some cause I’m a pail red head
- Rope – to ensure that your cooler does not finish the river an hour before you do
- Ziploc bags – forstoring any food you want on the river, cigarettes, etc…

B.A.B.E Rally Update - Day 5
Jun 8, 2009
Monday, June 8th
We were so happy to finally be in New Orleans, we never updated the website, but we did indeed make it! More Day 4 and 5 pics and video will be up within the next day or so. Sorry for not updating sooner and thanks for following team SweatBox and the A-Team Van.
1:27pm
After a grueling 23 miles on the road, we had decided to pull off for a little breakfast at Hooters of all places, and as we learned they do not serve breakfast. So what did we do...played whiffleball in their parking lot until they opened at 11:00. 50 wings, several beers (except for our driver of course), and one staff autographed Hooters t-shirt later we are back on the road. Our servers Erika and her trainee Amelia were awesome...so awesome that the other guys wanted to leave Rich there in exchange for Erika (who had red hair as well and was a Cubs fan).
Our challenge for today is to photograph five cars with cracked windshields, with bonus points for head shots en route to New Orleans. In addition, we have until 5:30 to get to the French Quarter and find "Violet" who will be driving a yellow smart car. At our current pace and will be hard pressed to get this done. We are about to cross the Mississippi border...one more state to go!
Just left Birmingham, AL - 10:17am
Two things that we did not know about Birmingham Alabama until completing Day 4 of the BABE rally: 1. it is known as "The Magic City", 2. it is AWESOME. We are still not sure why the Magic City moniker is used, but the 1/2 mile stretch of town that unknowingly hosted the team Sweatbox bar crawl provided the confirmation of awesomeness. Each of the seven bars that we visited last night added a unique element to our Birmingham experience. We will elaborate more on the experience, but it is time for breakfast at Hooters...

B.A.B.E Rally Update - Day 4
Jun 4, 2009
Day 4 is underway and we're back on the road. It's Bob's birthday and we rewarded him by letting him take the first shift behind the wheel, which unfortunatley for him included driving up and down some of the curviest roads we've encountered in rain and fog. Happy Birthday buddy! The first town we stopped in for gas in Georgia didn't exactly have that "Southern Hospitality" feel as it took us several attempts before a gas station or restaurant would let us use their bathrooom. Thanks GA!
Tonight should be fun however. There are a bunch of guys on the rally with us who we've been hanging out with the past few nights and own The Barking Kudu bar in Birmingham, AL, which is where our B.A.B.E. Rally party is tonight. These guys are driving a shorty school bus, complete with "dance pole", sound system, disco ball, and of course kegerator which has a tap handle on the outside of the bus. Last night they introduced us to some game call "Stump" which we'll post some video of later, but basically includes 10 dudes standing around a tree stump, throwing a hammer in the air, catching it, and pounding a nail into said stump...cool. That's all for now...

B.A.B.E Rally Update - Day 3
Jun 3, 2009
11:20am - Waynesville, NC
On the surface, Day 3 of the rally would seem to be the one with the most attainable objective. The official task sheet that we received this morning states, "Day 3 - Official "Don't Be An Idiot" Day. For Team Sweatbox, this is much easier read than done. Due to the unusually large number of vehicles that are experiencing serious mechanical issues (a stunning statement given the nature of this event) the organizers have strongly recommend that unstable vehicles NOT attempt to negotiate God's Mountain, as it is known. The sharp turns, steep inclines, and narrow roads heavily traveled by motorcycles is a treacherous pass for even well running cars, much less the caravan of smoke and grinding metal that is the BABE rally. In keeping with the stated objective for the day, and since we could smell our brakes burning yesterday on a much, MUCH easier road, Team Sweatbox has elected to adhere to the advice of the organizers and take a more highway-centric route to Murphy, NC. Along the way we'll add a few adventures of our own, including breakfast at the Waffle House (I am currently enjoying a scattered, smothered, covered, and capped) followed by tubing in the Great Smokey Mountains in NC. More to follow...
10:29pm - Murphy, NC
Well, at only 10:30ish with many more hours of tailgating yet to complete it would be premature to declare today to a definitive success regarding the "Don't Be An Idiot" Day objective. We can without hesitation state that we have not YET been idiots (relative to our usual idiocy), and we can declare today to be a success regarding our overarching objective of awesomeness. The tubing trip was a great learning experience as it turns out that white water tubing in the Smokey Mountains is a dramatically different experienceis than lazy tubing on the Dan River. Within 5 minutes of being in the chilly creek water 4 out of 5 Sweatbox team members had succumb to the mountains' rapids. (Bob Grimmie)

B.A.B.E. RALLY 2009

B.A.B.E Rally Update - Day 2
Jun 2, 2009
4:15PM (Eastern) - Pat Ryder taking his first time behind the wheel. Team SweatBox is living up to its name. Way too hot. Dehydrated heavy set men in partially torn astronaut suits. Most damage has occurred in the codpeice zone, but is not limited to that area. The visual distortion caused by our travelling A Team van has not negatively impacted our misson or ability to make friends throughout the journey. We successfully obtained the picture as the Timberlake auxiliary post office with the PostMaster "Forest" whose command of the Virginia dialect exceed Ryder's comprehension skills. Next up, a drive to downtown Roanoke to dine as the Roanoke Millionaires Club (AKA Texas Tavern). A bowl of chili, poor decision making, yes, and a Double Cheesburger with Relish and Fried Eggs capped the experience as we cooled our burning flesh in the freon enchanted corridor that is teh Texas Tavern. After much explanation of the space suit, we hit the highway again to visit the alma mater of Mr. Richard Donald Saner, Cave Springs High School. Let me tell you. It is not a good idea to randomly appear at the end of a school day in a spray painted van as partially attired astronauts. People go to jail for this. Seriously.
Godspeed.
----------------------------------------------------------
12:35PM - Timberlake, VA. Team SweatBox is mobile, posting live from the backseat of the van. Richard Donald Saner is in the captains chair today, so you are getting this information via RockHouse intern Chris Hamm. I am wearing an astronaut costume. The ambient temperature is 95 degrees. My BMI, as calucated by
Our challenge for today is to vist three towns out of a possible list of twelve. These towns are tiny spots not found on many maps, or our GPS devices. We are required to get a photo at each town in front of a major building / landmark in our astronaut costumes with the landmark, a local person, and the van. The team that visits the most obscure towns gets the most points. We are hitting Timberlake, VA first, just south of Lynchburg. Next, we head towards Cave Springs, near Rich's high school. City three is TBD, but somewhere in Tennessee near our final spot for the night - Newport, TN. After sleeping two nights with 5 guys in a hotel room, I am sleeping in the van tonight. More from the road later. . .

B.A.B.E Rally Update - Day 1
Jun 1, 2009
Day 1 has been officially underway for about 5 hours now. The day started with a quick rules and regulations speech by Justin, the event organizer, in the parking lot and we received our daily challenge shortly after and headed out. Today we are taking pictures of a wide variety of items on our way to Harrisonburg, VA...our final destination tonight. Just to give you an idea of what we are up against today, our challenge list includes taking pictures of a confederate flag, six different state trooper vehicles, a Ferrari 430, a license plate with 2 words, three Ford Edges that are not copper colored, a Mustang GT Convertible with the top down (bonus points if we can get the driver to pose with the car), hot air balloon, and a sign/building with a president’s name on it.
We’ve actually knocked out quite of few of these already, with the balloon and confederate flag proving to be the hardest. We actually have lined up a hot air balloon launch for 7:30pm in Woodstock, VA, but the guy said it may be too windy. Bob has had the wheel all day so far as we’ve trolled around his neck of the woods to knock some of the pictures out. Not surprising we could not locate a confederate flag in South Jersey, but Damien proclaimed if we did, he would wrap it around his naked body for our picture. We stopped off at Bob’s place of biz, where his wife Carrie and fellow co-workers at (place I’ve been told not to name) greeted us and assisted in a few pics.
Got some ok videos to post, but our laptops are dying in the van so will have to update tonight. We were able to get two videos onto YouTube we think before the first laptop died…try searching BABE Rally or B.A.B.E. Rally. We’ll post them here tonight either way.
That’s it for now…more later. Cheers!

Day 1 Pics

Edison NJ - Get a Photo of a Ferrari 430 - Pat Ryder

Mt. Laurel, NJ - Following one Mustang GT convertible for a photo, we ran into another. Turns out NJ is well stocked with guys in mustang convertibles.

TRG Offices - Mt. Laurel, NJ - Find a license plate with two english words. . . check. "IM ICE" sitting out front of Carrie Grimmie's place of work.

Get off the van when someone sees you. Run.

There are some VERY unique vehicles and people on this venture, and we are looking forward to the week ahead. Below is a pic of Team SweatBox outside the world famous Pat's Steaks in South Philadelphia en route to NY. More updates tomorrow...
\
Team SweatBox arrived in Staten Island, NY earlier tonight fully in tact. We were informed at check-in that there is a curse following any team traveling in an A-Team Van. Apparently in several attempts both in the US and Europe, none of the teams who went with the A-Team theme made it across the finish line. Of course we welcome this challenge with open arms in hopes of being the first.
